The USS George Washington (CVN 73), and its escort warships made its Port call in Manila for a four-day goodwill visit.
The American carrier group’s port call aims to “further enhance the strong historic ties between the US and the Philippines,” according to an embassy media advisory. During their visit, some of the George Washington’s 5,500-plus crew and air wing members will take part in “community relations projects and professional exchanges between the US and Philippine navies.”
The super carrier made its first goodwill visit to the country on Aug. 11 to 15, 2009 where Ages’ Top Management were cordially invited to see firsthand the mammoth proportion and power of the ship. This year Ages was again invited by Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr. and the Commander, Carrier Task Force 70 Rear Admiral Dan Cloyd at a reception aboard the USS George Washington.
Ages Aviation Center, Inc.
