To meet demand for highly-skilled, world-class automotive technicians for its global needs, Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. has allotted P350 million to establish a technical school within its special economic zone in Santa Rosa , Laguna.
“Skilled Filipino automotive technicians are in high demand not only in the Philippines but all over the world as well,” TMP president Michinobu Sugata said in a speech during groundbreaking ceremonies for the education facility on Thursday.
TMP vice president Rommel Gutierrez said the school will initially rise in a one-hectare land but would eventually expanded to 10 hectares in the future. With a promising outlook for the Philippine economy Toyota said it expects more Filipinos owning cars pushing higher the demand for new vehicles. “More vehicle fleet will be on the road and will further increase the demand for automotive technicians to provide after-sales service,” Sugata said.
