Katy Perry Back in Manila

International pop singer Katy Perry is in the Philippines for her Prismatic World Tour concert at Philippine Arena.

This is Perry’s third visit to the Philippines, giving her fans another chance to party with her, at a larger venue.

The superstar arrived in Manila mid afternoon. Ages Aviation Center, Inc was specially selected by the management and security team to provide full VIP service for her private aircraft.

Having been to Manila twice before, it was the first time that the private aircraft of Katy Perry was handled by Ages Aviation Center, Inc. and was given the “Ages treatment” which her management and security team truly appreciated.

Expanded Philippines-US war games

The Philippines and the United States will kick off this year’s Balikatan military exercise amid concerns over China’s reclamation activities in disputed areas in the West Philippine Sea.

More than 11,000 Filipino and American troops will join the drills to be held simultaneously in different locations until April 30.

A total of 6,656 American Soldiers will participate in the exercise, more than double the 2,500 strong contingents that joined in 2014. The number of Filipino participants, meanwhile, also increased to 5,023 from 3,000 last year.

Philippines Air Force to receive first C-295 aircraft

The Philippines Air Force (PAF) took delivery of its first C-295M military transport aircraft.

Airbus Military handed over the aircraft at Clark Air Base. Ages Aviation Center, Inc. provided full ground handling service through its agent in CRK / RPLC.

Commenting on the delivery, “the PAF said that the aircraft would provide added capability during disasters”.

A stretched variant of the C-235 transporter, the C-295 is a tactical military transport aircraft designed to carry out tactical airlift, search-and-rescue, and maritime patrol and environmental surveillance missions in all weather conditions.

Ages also provided ground handling in completing during turnover with a demonstration flight where distinguished guest of the Philippine Armed Forces where present.

One Direction’s first concert in Manila

Members of the popular British boy band, One Direction finally gave their thousands of Filipino fans a night to remember.
On Saturday, the band — composed of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson — dominated the local trends on Twitter as they performed the first half of the Manila leg of their “On The Road Again” tour at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
Ages took honor in servicing the private aircraft used by the band as they arrived in Manila hours before the concert. Ages, seasoned celebrity handler, ensured that the band’s privacy was kept while on the Ages ramp by setting up stanchions (keeping fans at a distance) tailor fitted to the security requirements requested by the Road Management group.

On departure, Ages was privileged to have received a signed memorabilia from the group as a thank you for the efforts in providing the only “True VVIP” service in Manila MNL/RPLL.

French President Hollande visit the Philippines, to push for climate action

French President Francois Hollande on February 26 2015 paid a courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III as part of his two-day state visit in the Philippines to push for climate change action.

On February 27, Hollande visited Guiuan town in Eastern Samar – one of the areas hit by typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) over a year ago.

Film stars Marion Cotillard and Melanie Laurent, who are known as environmental advocates, were among the French delegation to the Philippines.

Ages Aviation Center, Inc. received the distinct honor of being selected as the preferred Fixed Base Operator for the entire French Presidential Convoy which included multiple aircrafts from passenger commuters such as the Airbus 332 which served at the presidential aircraft an Airbus 342 that carried media and distinguish guests, also part of the aircraft services by Ages was the very new A400M.

With their ever changing schedule, Ages remained flexible and showed its strength in ensuring a smooth operation for each Aircraft.

City of Dreams Manila’s Grand Opening

James Packer and Lawrence Ho, co-chairs of Macau casino giant Melco Crown, shared upbeat prospects for the $ 1-billion City of Dreams Manila as they flew back to town for the grand opening of the country’s newest integrated resort on Monday.

City of Dreams, the second integrated resort to rise at Pagcor Entertainment City, is a partnership with the SM group.

City of Dreams has about two hectares of gaming space, more than 900 hotels rooms operated under three hotels brands – Crown, Hyatt and Nobu, the DreamPlay indoor amusement park and about two hectares of restaurant and retail space.

As the preferred FBO (Fixed Base Operator) of Melco Crown Entertainment (MCE), Ages Aviation Center was given the great honor of providing full VVIP aircraft services for their A139 Business Jet with the cabin refitted with the same luxurious amenities as that of the City of Dreams. The very high standards of service required by the aircraft crew was satisfied by the seasoned ground crew and trained professional of Ages.

Broadway hit Musical Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”

The first-ever international touring production of the Broadway hit musical Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” based on the 1991 Oscar-winning full-length animated feature film, and now–after 20 years—has reunited its original 1994 Broadway collaborators: directors Robert Jess Roth, choreographer Matt West , scenic designer Stan Meyer, costume designer Ann Hould-Ward, lighting designer Natasha Katz, book writer Linda Woolverton, composer Alan Menken, and lyricists Tim Rice (and the late Howard Ashman), opens on Thursday, Jan 9 at the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines ( CCP ) in Pasay City.

AFC celebrates 60th anniversary in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) returns to the place where it all started – Manila – to celebrate its 60th anniversary and honor the continent’s best and brightest in the Annual Awards night at Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

AFC officials, led by president Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain and general secretary Dato Alex Soosay, lead some 400 delegates for the affair to be graced by International Football Federation (FIFA) president Joseph Blatter and secretary general Jerome Valcke.
Ages was honored to provide full ground handling service in MNL/RPLL and FBO service to the AFC as it returns to its “ home soil “ to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

Manila host city of the 1st leg of the IPTL

Manila hosted the inaugural season of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL). Which concluded 30 November at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with a sizable crowd cheering on the Manila Mavericks after they defeated the Singapore Slammers for their first win in three days.

“If you look at the amount of people who showed up here, (it’s) unbelievable support. From Friday all the way through to Sunday, you know it shows that people here love tennis,” said Andy Murray, who played for the Manila Mavericks and capped the leg with a thrilling win over Nick Kyrgios of the Slammers.

“It’s been amazing crowds every day, and they’ve been really great supporters,” said world No. 5 Ana Ivanovic, who from the first day until the last was the darling of the crowd.

Frenchman Gael Monfils, who gained a lot of Filipino fans thanks to his explosive play for the Indian Aces and his sensational hip-hop dancing in between sets, appreciated how “into it” the fans were.

“It’s good, it’s my first time in the Philippines and I think they have been great and unbelievable,” he said. Doubles specialist Sania Mirza on Saturday said that Manila

Serena Williams, who played only on the final day, was surprised yet delighted by the reaction she got.
“The reception was amazing,” said Williams, who won her women’s singles set against Kirsten Flipkens. “Everyone was so nice. The IPTL moves to Singapore for the second leg, to be followed by New Delhi, and then Dubai.
