Fixed Base Operator (FBO)


fixed-based operator (FBO) is an organization granted the right by an airport to operate at the airport and provide aeronautical services such as fueling, hangaring, tie-down and parking, aircraft rental, aircraft maintenance, flight instruction, and similar services.


The services potentially on offer at a Fixed Base Operator are varied and wide ranging. Some of these services will be subject to the approval and oversight by their delegated Civil Aviation Authority. Available services can include any combination of the following:

  • Ground Handling
  • Ground Handling Equipment Rental & Sales
  • Catering Services – Gourmet or Special Dietary Requirement
  • Trip Permits and Landing/Parking Slots
  • Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Coordination
  • Flight Plan & Weather Information
  • Preparing Crew & Passenger Manifest
  • Maintaining communication with the aircraft during flight, as well as with the crew, passengers and third party vendors
  • Flight Tracking (flight following/flight status)

  • Crew & Passenger Transit Lounge
  • Aircraft Interior/Exterior Cleaning
