INDIAN MINISTER OF FINANCE VISITS 45TH ANNUAL MEETING OF ADB BOARD OF GOVERNORS

indian-financeThe Philippines is the host country for the 45th Annual Meeting of Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Board of Governors. Among the participating countries that sent their representatives, India sent Finance Minister H.E Pranab Mukherjee. Talks of him being the front-runner for the presidential candidate, places the Finance Minister in a position where his comment was “It is speculative.” 

Ages again was chosen to provide FBO service for the private jet that transported the Finance Minister from India to Manila. The party of the Finance Minister as well as the esteemed diplomatic group from the Embassy of India in Manila were all very pleased with the airport & aircraft services preparations made by Ages.

normanGreg Norman the Australian golf great is back again in Manila. He is designing & building a golf course in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte. Mr. Norman flew in on a private jet which also took him to Dapitan City from Manila. From Dapitan City his private jet stopped at Cebu (Mactan) for a short technical stop (refuel) and was off to Guam.

All aircraft ground handling & permits for this Philippine Trip was handled by Ages Aviation Center, Inc.

THE EMIR OF QATAR VISITS MANILA

emirAnother high profile VVIP flight was successfully handled by Ages Aviation Center, Inc. The official state visit of the ruler of Persian Gulf state of Qatar, Sheik Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, is the first ever visit of a Qatar emir to the country. His trip included an Airbus 340, 320 and a Global Express business jet.

The Emir of Qatar cut short his two-day state visit in the country and left for home on the same day to attend to an urgent meeting. Despite the last minute change of schedule, Ages Aviation was able to meet all the aircraft handling requirements both for the main aircraft that flew the EMIR back to Qatar and the other aircrafts that stayed for two days because the members of the Emir’s delegation which included Qatar’s foreign minister finished the bilateral meetings

ARRIVAL OF KOBE BRYANT IN MANILA

kobe2National Basketball Association (NBA) and Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant kicked off his five day-Asian tour with a visit to Manila , his third visit to the nation’s capital in the past 5 years, on 12 July 2011. Arriving on board a Nike Business Jet Gulfstream 5 at the Ages Aviation Center, Inc.  facilities in Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila Kobe’s first stop before proceeding to Seoul in South Korea and to cities in China.

Ages Aviation was put in charge of providing support for his flight. A special arrangement was also provided to accommodate MEDIA press stand section. This preparation resulted in the front page shot at the Philippine Star newspaper of Kobe Bryant. The last time the Los Angeles Lakers star visited Manila was in July 2009.

USS Carl Vinson

vinsonAges Aviation Center was tasked by the U.S. Government to provide FBO services for the USS Carl Vinson C2 aircrafts that was sent to pick up President Noynoy Aquino and his party. Together with the officers and men of the 250th Presidential airlift wing under the command of Col. Alexander P. Bote, Ages was able to provide the FBO services required by this Presidential trip.

USS George Wahington

washington1The USS George Washington (CVN 73), and its escort warships made its Port call in Manila for a four-day goodwill visit. 

The American carrier group’s port call aims to “further enhance the strong historic ties between the US and the Philippines,” according to an embassy media advisory. During their visit, some of the George Washington’s 5,500-plus crew and air wing members will take part in “community relations projects and professional exchanges between the US and Philippine navies.” 

The super carrier made its first goodwill visit to the country on Aug. 11 to 15, 2009 where Ages’ Top Management were cordially invited to see firsthand the mammoth proportion and power of the ship. This year Ages was again invited by Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr. and the Commander, Carrier Task Force 70 Rear Admiral Dan Cloyd at a reception aboard the USS George Washington. 

Ages Aviation Center, Inc. Manila’s leading FBO along with the direction of the US Embassy and its Defense Attaché Office took part in providing US Navy C-2 which are permanently station aboard the USS George Washington ground handling service as it shuttling dignitary and special guest during the visit. Along with, Ages also provide Ground Handling Services to HH-60s that were tasked to do the same. 

Flying Eye Hospital “Orbis” in town for 2-week mission

orbisThe Orbis Flying Eye Hospital, a converted DC-10, arrived at NAIA and will be staying until 10 September, where its doctors will treat all kinds of Eye Diseases, such as a cornea transplant, advance cataract, viteroretinal diseases and several other eye ailments affecting children. These include congenital glaucoma, strabismus and retinopathy of prematurity. 

The program also includes the exchange of skills for local doctors that are not limited to Ophthalmologists but also include continuing medical education designed for nursing, anesthesiology and biomedical engineering. 

Fedex, along with St. Luke’s Hospital, the Manila International Airport Authority, Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, Ages Aviation Center, Inc. who provided complete ground handling & support for this aircraft, and several other organizations have been the leading sponsor of Orbis.

Japan Self Defence Force Disaster Relief Operations for Pakistan

pakistanTrue to the Airlift mission profile of the Japanese Air Self Defence Force (JASDF), six (6) C130 aircrafts were sent to transport relief cargo to Pakistan . Leading FBO in Manila , Ages Aviation Center, Inc. was called upon again by ITOCHU Corp. Aerospace and Information Division to provide support for this flight operation by the JASDF.

Even with Diplomatic Permit and a couple of maintenance issues, the six (6) C130 were refuelled, maintenance was supported and flight preparation adjusted by Ages Aviation Center, Inc. ground handling team, all six (6) C130 continued onto complete their mission

Admiral Willard Arrive in Manila

admiralU.S. Air Force C-40 receives full ground handling service from Ages Aviation Center, Inc. during the 3 day visit of Admiral Robert Willard who was in Manila to attend the RP-US Mutual Defense Board meeting at Camp Aguinaldo.

Admiral Willard, accompanied by U.S. Ambassador Harry Thomas, also made a courtesy call to President Aquino at the Premiere Guest House in Malacanang.

New Zealand Prime Minister makes a tech stop in Clark

nz-primeNew Zealand Prime Minister John Key aboard the Royal New Zealand Air Forces’ Boeing 757 makes a quick stop in Clark on his way to Korea to meet with Korean President Lee Myung-bak. The Prime Minister was in Korea to improve trade relations with Korea which is believed to benefit both countries. Prime Minister Key also promises his government’s full support for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula. Philippine New Zealand Ambassador Andrew Matheson was also on hand to meet the Prime Minister. All services at Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (CRK/RPLC), were coordinated, and supervised, by Ages Aviation Center, Inc. Ages provided its ground handling expertise in ensuring a quick turnaround for the Prime Minister’s early morning touch and go. Part of the service that Ages provided was the Repositioning of a Supervisor/ Handler to guarantee everything runs smoothly while being handled by an Ages preferred ground handler.
