Justin Bieber Visits Typhoon Victims in the Philippines.

bieberAfter a headline-making tour, Justin Bieber is ending his controversial concert season by doing some good.

The 19-year-old pop star traveled to Manila on Tuesday, Dec 10, for the final date of this Believe tour The Canadian singer and his entourage flew via chartered helicopter to Tacloban. Justin Bieber visits typhoon victims in the Philippines.

starkeyThe Starkey Hearing Foundation along with American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez flew to Tambler from AGES Aviation Center, Inc. Headquarters (MNL/RPLL) to meet up with boxing Star Manny Pacquiao to visit typhoon hit provinces in the Visayas.

Sanchez is part of the Starkey Foundation’s “So the World May Hear” roster of entertainers which included Lionel Richie, Marc Anthony, Matisyahu, Sinbad and Aria.

AGES provided full ground handling service and landing permit to the domestic airports in the Philippines to make this another successful outreach program for Starkey.

UNITED STATES PROVIDES HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT IN PHILIPPINES

us-philWashington – President Obama says the United States is providing significant humanitarian assistance to the Philippines  and is rushing additional relief supplies, equipment and aid in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda.

Acting U.S. Ambassador Brian Goldbeck, the charge d’affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Manila, issued an immediate disaster declaration and announced he was making available US$100,000 to provide health, water  and sanitation support to the Philippines. The Embassy also said a humanitarian assistance survey team was flying to Manila to conduct a full need assessment. A U.S. Agency for international Development (USAID) disaster assistance and response team was preparing to conduct surveys across regions of the country struck by the storm.

About 90 U.S. Marines and sailors flew to the Philippines November 10 from Okinawa as part of an advance assessment team sent to begin providing relief and recovery support, the Pentagon said. The team has requested c-130 cargo planes, MV-22 Osprey  Helicopters  and other helicopter aircraft, and the navy has sent two P-3 Oriaon surveillance aircrafts.

AGES likewise became the Hub for the U.S. Marines Citation Ultra (UC-35) and Beachcraft King Air (C-12) as it did daily flights with key personnel – USAID, U.S. Embassy charged’ affaires, USMC Generals to the disaster stricken Tacloban and nearby provinces.

JAPAN AIR SELF DEFENSE FORCE (JASDF) PROVIDES HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT

japan-airJapan has sent almost 1,200 troops to join reliilippines along with three warships, 10 planes and six helicopters, in the single largest aid deployment by the country’s military.

About 1,170 members of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) will provide medical support and quarantine services, and transport relief goods, the ministry said in a statement posted on Friday.

Ten or So other will be based in Manila to coordinate relief operations with the Philippines and other countries.

The aircrafts in clued C-130 transport planes, KC-767 tanker planes, and one U-4 multipurpose support plane.

AGES Aviation Center, Inc. is proud to be in support and service to the Japan Air Self-defense Force (JASDF)  as it provides Humanitarian support to the effected provinces in the Philippines.

Parts of the AGES Hangar have been used by the JASDF as its Philippine Head Quarters dispatch and storage facility as JASDF C-130s do daily runs to Tacloban, Ormoc, Roxas and Guiuan bringing relief goods personnels and flying out evacuees. On top of this, AGES provided full Ground Handling service to the KC 767 which provided transportation for the troops and medical support at the ravaged areas of central Philippines.

CANADA’S RESPONSE TO TYPHOON HAIYAN

canada-hayanTyphoon Haiyan slammed into the Philippines last November 08, 2013, setting off landslides, knocking out power in several provinces and cutting communications in the country’s central region.

Thousands of lives are feared to have been lost, with a large number of injuries and destruction of property and infrastructure. Approximately 13 million people are reportedly affected, and although needs assessments are going, humanitarian needs will be substantial.

On November 20, 2013, Minister Christian Paradis announced the deployment of relief supplies to the hardest-hit regions of the Philippines and the replenishment, the minister announced that up to US$ 5 Million would be set aside to cover these cost.

On November 18, Prime Minister Stephen  Harper announced that Canada will commit an additional US$15 Million toward emergency relief activities that should bring further comfort to the victims of this catastrophe.

AGES Aviation Center, Inc. transformed into the Royal Canadian Airforce Terminal as it shuttled individuals from the Canadian Armed force Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART). Embassy personnel members of the diplomatic community and distinguished guests such as UN Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Releif Coordinator (UNCCHA) Baroness Valerie Amus, all in support to typhoon Haiyan affected areas.

AGES Managed and Supported the RCA CL60 as it made daily flights to the affected areas in the Philippines. AGES the Leading FBO in Manila assisted in filing multiple flight plans to the affected provinces, where some airports were so badly damaged that individual iling of the flight plans would be next to impossible

CEO of Melco Crown Entertainment unveils The City of Dreams Manila

MANILA—Macau developer Melco Crown Entertainment is raising its investment in a $1-billion casino project in the Philippines to offer more gaming tables and luxury hotel rooms, the company said Wednesday.

The “City of Dreams Manila” project, to open in mid-2014, will now require an initial outlay of $680 million, or $60 million more than previously announced, its chief executive Lawrence Ho said in Manila.

“We think it’s going to be money well spent. As a company we make sure that there’s good value in terms of where we put the money in,” he told a brief news conference.
The casino is a joint venture with the SM Group of Chinese-Filipino billionaire Henry Sy, the Philippines’ wealthiest man.

The project is one of four holders of government franchises to build four $1-billion casinos. They will be sited in a gaming enclave constructed by the government on reclaimed land in Manila Bay and called Entertainment City.

MANILA – The NBA team Houston Rockets arrived in Manila Monday (07 October, 2013) on board a chartered Boeing 747 plane of Atlas Air. Led by coach Kevin McHale, they disembarked at around 10 a.m. Monday at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1. Houston Rockets star players Jeremy Lin, Dwight Howard and James Harden got the most attention from the fans upon their arrival at the tarmac area of NAIA.

AGES Aviation Center, Inc. was honored to have been part of the first NBA  pre-season game to be held in Hoops crazy Philippines. As the elected ground handler, AGES provide full VVIP ground handling service to the Houston Rockets as they arrived on a Chartered Boeing 747 from Arrival to Departure. 24 hour aircraft security was provided security for the Chartered Aircraft.

US. SECRETARY OF DEFENCE VISITS MANILA

U.S. Secretary of Defence Chuck Hagel, one of the four most important cabinet officials in the U.S. Government, arrived in Manila, Philippines late afternoon as the last stopover of his Southeast Asian trip. The E4B (B747 equivalent) on which the U.S. Secretary of Defence arrived in, was parked at the Balagbag (AGES) Ramp under tight security during the short stay.  The Secretary of Defence was in Manila to clarify the plan of increased rotational presence of U.S. troops in the country as well as the to strengthen the U.S. Government’s “deep and unbreakable” alliance with the Philippines. Together with the E4B was another C-17 aircraft also parked at the Balagbag Ramp.

AGES Aviation Center, Inc. provided full VVIP Ground Handling service to both Aircrafts during the whole stay. AGES Aviation Center, Inc. is proud to continue to be the preferred handler of the U.S. Embassy for all their Flights in RPLL.
